Cover letter
Please be sure to enclose a covering letter with your submission, stating the following information:
- 1. your name and address
- 2. your e-mail address and your telephone number where you can be reached during the day
- 3. the exact device designation including serial number
- 4. a brief, precise description of the fault. Please enclose pictures with your consignment that document the defect described
- 5. please state the type(s) of camera you are using with the lens in question
Accessories
Please remove non-essential accessories such as batteries, straps, filters etc. before sending them in (does not apply to third-party devices - please enclose their camera batteries charged).
In the event of front or back focus problems, please send your camera with a charged battery.
Please make a note of any individual parts sent in the accompanying letter.
Error check
Before sending in the camera, please check whether an incorrectly inserted or flat battery is the cause of a supposed defect. If in doubt, please read the operating instructions.
Warranty card
In the event of a repair within the warranty period, we ask you to ensure that the warranty card is duly completed, stamped and handed over to you in the original at the time of purchase. The warranty card must correspond to the appliance (appliance designation and serial number).
Enclose the warranty card with your return. This will save you and us unnecessary and time-consuming queries.
SSC warranty card
Products that have been imported by Ott + Wyss AG, SIGMA's general agent for Switzerland, are entitled to take advantage of our extended warranty and service.
You can recognise this by the black SSC card in credit card format enclosed with the product and an additional sticker "Officially imported by SIGMA Switzerland" on the packaging. If you are unsure, we can use the serial number to determine whether the lens has been imported by us.
With this certificate, we guarantee that the SIGMA product you have purchased has been imported into Switzerland on a regular basis and that you are therefore entitled to the warranty. You also receive priority for repairs and service work. This card also entitles you to free cleaning and inspection including electronic updates once a year.
Therefore, always make sure that the SSC warranty card is included before you make a purchase.

Cost estimate
Please understand that we can only provide you with information about the expected repair costs after we have inspected the product.
In the case of chargeable repairs, we will always provide you with a cost estimate in advance. If you reject the repair after receiving it, you can dispose of the appliance free of charge or alternatively return the unrepaired appliance for a fee of CHF 60.00 plus a flat-rate shipping charge of CHF 15.00 plus 8.1% VAT.
The return of appliances after a chargeable repair is only possible against advance payment!
