The origins of the company's history date back to 1895, when Rossi + Co. was founded in the heart of Zofingen's old town. It was active in the textile business and also sold English photographic plates of the Imperial brand, the predecessor of Ilford, as a sideline - to a certain extent the beginning of a timely diversification. In 1949, with the arrival of new shareholders, the company name was changed to Ott + Co. The conversion of the company into a public limited company resulted in the name Ott + Wyss AG, which is still used today. The founders have since left the company. Today, Ott + Wyss AG employs 10 people. David Wyss is the managing director.

The product range includes the two first-class manufacturers SIGMA and B+W.
