SIGMA Mount Conversion Service From 1 September 2013, we will be offering our customers a new chargeable service, the "Mount Conversion Service". As part of this service, we will convert the mount of the lenses in the Contemporary, Art and Sports product lines by replacing all relevant parts at the customer's request. The necessary adaptation and optimisation to the new camera with a different mount will initially be carried out exclusively at the Japanese factory in Aizu. |

1st concept The customer only chooses the lens based on its performance, not on the camera mount. Cameras with the option of changing lenses represent a superior system. They offer the photographer more creative possibilities, as he can use a wide variety of lenses as required to achieve greater photographic expression. However, each interchangeable lens is limited to a specific camera system due to its specifications. In other words, you can no longer use these lenses if you change your camera system. Although lenses are the key to creating photographic expression, it is a pity that there is no system whose standard is based purely on the functions and individual qualities of interchangeable lenses. Over the years, Sigma has produced an extremely wide variety of interchangeable lenses. By leveraging their unique expertise and in-house resources, they are able to provide their new mount change service, which can be performed on all interchangeable lenses in the new product lines. Sigma will change the current lens mount and the necessary internal components so that you can continue to use your favourite Sigma lens on another camera body. Thanks to this service, you can use your favourite lens for many years to come, regardless of which camera system you originally bought it for. 2. This service in detail The "mount replacement service" can be carried out on all Sigma lenses of the three new product lines (Contemporary, Art, Sports). It enables customers to have the mount and all relevant parts and internal systems replaced.
a) Products for which the service can be utilised b) Start of the service 01 September 2013 (in Japan) This is a chargeable service, regardless of any remaining warranty on the product. The costs depend on the type of lens and include VAT and shipping to Japan: CHF 125.00 (for DN lenses - e.g. 19mm, 30mm, 60mm) There may be deviations depending on the situation and the country. Currently, a total duration of about 4 weeks including shipping can be assumed. Customers should contact the nearest authorised SIGMA Service. This service requires optimisation and adjustment at the factory in Aizu after replacing the connection and the internal systems. Therefore, please contact the nearest authorised service centre in the respective country to which the device will be sent. After the mount change, the customer receives a 12-month warranty on the lens. SIGMA checks and guarantees the optical performance of all converted lenses using its own A1 measuring system (Aizu1). The connection change service is not available for tele converters, USB docks and other accessories. |
